Somerset Intergroup Spiritual Walk
May 19-20th 2018

We start in Wells by the impressive cathedral on Saturday 19th of May 2018 at 9.00am  and head west towards Cheddar passing Wookey Hole, Ebbor Gorge.  Rodney Stoke National Nature Reserve, Drayco tt Sleights Nature Reserve before coming to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge, voted the second greatest natural wonder in Britain. Here we will stay overnight at the Petruth Paddock free range campsite to charge the batteries with an open-air AA meeting, food, and make new friends of like-minded fellowship people from around the UK. Fellowship visitors who are unable to walk for one reason or another can attend and be part of the gathering in the evening for a small contribution to the camp owner.


The next day off to Compton Bishop, Wavering Down to Crook Peak, cross to  Bleadon Hill and finish by the wharf, Uphill on Weston Bay in Weston-Super-Mare.
Here we say goodbye at the seafront and maybe enjoy an impromptu open-air AA meeting up in the grounds of the Old Church of St Nicolas weather permitting.


In the spirit of unity and keeping it simple, Just turn up on the day and walk. Transport, booking the campsite, sustenance and well being is down to the responsibility of the walker. Walking boots (some parts can be muddy)

Day backpack (to carry water, food etc)

Walking poles (there is amount of uneven surfaces)

Map of route (there are markers along the route but easily to missed)

The campsite is situated on the outskirts of Chard in Somerset and will be held over the weekend starting on 12:00 Friday 7th until 14:00 Sunday 9th September 2018. We have booked the entire campsite so anonymity will not be compromised. This is an open gathering extended to friends and families of the alcoholic.

 

ADULTS: £25 per adult for the entire weekend of fun

CHILDREN: £10 per child of 12-17 years

Under 12s FREE
